Join us in East Wittering, West Sussex, for a relaxed and creative workshop painting beautiful paper fans with simple patterns, colour and modern calligraphy.

This beginner-friendly session is all about creating something joyful and personal. You’ll learn how to add easy painted details to your fan, from loose florals and playful patterns to simple decorative marks, before adding a name, word or short phrase in calligraphy. We’ll guide you through the process step by step, with plenty of inspiration to choose from, so you can keep your design simple or make it more decorative depending on your confidence.

No previous experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. You’ll be working around a shared table in our light, welcoming studio overlooking the countryside, with tea, coffee and encouragement close at hand. By the end of the session, you’ll have your own hand-painted calligraphy fan to take home, perfect for summer events, gifts, weddings, parties or simply to admire!!
