We are so excited to offer our introduction to Copperplate calligraphy as an online class - perfectly suited for beginners, with no experience necessary. You will be guided through creating elegant letterforms, where and how to add flourishes, shown ways of lining up your work, as well as using different grid guides. By the end of the class you will create a pretty greeting card using your new skills. As a bonus, you will receive a Copperplate Capitals Alphabet which you can use after you've finished the workshop, perfect for creating your own Monograms.

With carefully structured lesson sheets, templates, and lots of expert advice, this class is the perfect intro to this historic style.

This workshop is a live stream via Zoom, which means that you can ask questions and receive direct help with your work from our experienced tutor. This workshop is NOT a pre-recorded video and is suitable for complete beginners.

An online workshop is a wonderful way to learn calligraphy, as you are able to watch your tutor demonstrate up close on your screen so that every letter stroke and movement of the pen and hand is magnified and easy to follow. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners — no experience is necessary. Your Kit

Tickets for this live-streamed workshop include an oblique penholder and EF Principal nib, jet black pigment ink, plus original worksheets and templates, designed by Kirsten Burke that you can use again and again, along with your bonus Copperplate Capitals Alphabet! (RRP £15).

Your Live Stream Workshop Kit will be posted out to you the week prior to your workshop. All you need to provide is a jar of water, and please protect the surface that you work on in case of ink spills.

System requirements

This workshop will be hosted via Zoom. All you need is a PC, Mac, laptop, or tablet. We wouldn't recommend a phone as we will be very small on your screen. Your Zoom invite will come with your booking email confirmation, and we'll send it to you again 3 days before your workshop in your reminder email.
