Spend a relaxed, inspiring day learning the art of modern calligraphy in a friendly and supportive setting. Whether you’re completely new or have only tried it once before, this workshop will guide you from the very first strokes through to creating your own finished pieces.

Morning Session – Pointed Nib Foundations

We’ll begin with the essentials of pointed nib calligraphy, using beautifully designed worksheets to guide you step by step. You’ll learn how to handle the pen, control pressure, and form elegant letter shapes using coloured inks and shimmering metallics.

With clear demonstrations and plenty of individual guidance, you’ll quickly build confidence — and create your first finished pieces along the way. Our approach is calm, structured and easy to follow, making calligraphy feel achievable from the very start.

Please bring a packed lunch and enjoy a relaxed break before the afternoon session.

Afternoon Session – Bounce, Flow & Style

In the afternoon, we’ll bring your lettering to life.

You’ll learn how to move beyond straight lines and explore “bounce” using variation in size, height and spacing to create lettering that feels natural, expressive and full of movement.

We’ll show you how to:

• Shape and stack words into pleasing layouts

• Let letters rise and dip with confidence

• Create phrases that feel connected and fluid

• Keep everything balanced, so your work feels intentional and refined

You’ll then bring everything together in a final piece, a design you can frame, gift, or use as inspiration for future projects.
