Join us on our special Christmas themed live-streamed workshop from the comfort of your own home! The perfect introduction to calligraphy, taking you from the basics of how to use a pointed nib and ink, through to joining up words so that you can create phrases and greetings for cards and gifts. This is a festive workshop, so we will be using metallic paints to form lovely shimmering lettering, plus we will look at how to add simple illustrations like holly and stars to your calligraphy. You will finish by creating a stunning calligraphic Christmas Card with the help of our unique templates, designed by Kirsten Burke. 

With demonstrations, warm-up exercises, alphabets and words to trace and copy, you will be guided step by step, through the principles of modern calligraphy, so that you are able to build up your skills quickly and easily.

An online workshop is a wonderful way to learn calligraphy, as you are able to watch your tutor demonstrate up close on your screen so that every letter stroke and movement of the pen and hand is magnified and easy to follow. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners — no experience is necessary. Your Kit

Tickets for this live-streamed workshop include our Essential Modern Calligraphy kit which includes ink, a wooden penholder, a Leonardt 30 nib, Leonardt 265, and a Principle Nib in a handy storage tin, plus a luscious metallic Finetec paint, paintbrush for mixing and original worksheets, templates, including a Christmas Card & Envelope (total RRP £20). 

All of this will be posted out to you once your order is placed. You only need to provide a jar of water, and please protect the surface that you work on in case of ink spills.

If you already have our essentials kit and a Finetec metallic paint there is a second ticket option that doesn't include the calligraphy tools but does include the workshop, worksheets, templates, and envelopes.

This workshop will be hosted via Zoom. All you need is a PC, Mac, laptop, or tablet. We wouldn't recommend a phone as we will be very small on your screen. Your Zoom invite will come with your booking email confirmation, and we'll send it to you again 3 days before your workshop in your reminder email. After you've booked please check your Spam folder in case the email ends up in there!
