Master Calligrapher: Maisie Minett

This full-day taster workshop gives you the opportunity to explore both pointed nib and brush pen calligraphy. You’ll experiment with a wide range of tools, inks, and colours, helping you discover which styles you enjoy most while exploring the unique effects each technique can achieve.

In the morning, we’ll focus on pointed nib calligraphy. Working through carefully structured worksheets, you’ll create letterforms using coloured inks and metallics, practising on beautiful templates designed by Kirsten Burke. With demonstrations and guided support throughout the session, you’ll gain confidence and create finished pieces you can be truly proud of. Calligraphy can feel overwhelming at first, but our step-by-step approach makes it accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring.

A delicious lunch is provided so you can relax and refuel before the afternoon session. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know on the booking form so we can cater for you.

After lunch, you’ll begin your brush pen calligraphy journey. Using a variety of pens and colours, you’ll quickly discover your favourites as you create vibrant, expressive lettering. This session is all about developing your own style and enjoying the creative process. Maisie will share plenty of tips and tricks and will be on hand to help troubleshoot any challenges along the way.

Our studio also has a small shop stocked with some of our favourite calligraphy supplies, including many of the tools you’ll use during the workshop. You’ll be able to purchase your favourites so you can continue your calligraphy journey at home.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

We are unable to offer refunds for this event unless we have a waiting list and can fill your space. Alternatively, we can move you to another date should this one no longer be suitable.
