Join our live-streamed modern calligraphy workshops from the comfort of your own home! This workshop is the perfect introduction to calligraphy and will take you through the basics of using your brand new pointed nib and ink, which is included in the price of the ticket! We will start with a demo to show you how to use your pointed nib, then we will work through warm-up exercises to teach you the basics, practising letterforms and joining up letters. We will talk about how to create your own modern calligraphy style and finish off the workshop by making your own calligraphy piece with the help of our unique templates. Friendly and informative, you will be guided step by step, so that you are able to build up your skills quickly and easily.

This workshop will be run as a live video stream. It will NOT be a pre-recorded video. The worksheets will be posted to you along with templates that we will complete during the class.

Tickets for this live-streamed workshop include our 'Essential calligraphy kit' that will be posted to you once your order is placed. The calligraphy kits include a wooden pen holder, a small pot of Chinese black ink, 3 different nibs, and in addition we will also give you a small brush and stunning metallic Coliro Finetec gold paint. All you need to provide is a jar of water, and please protect the surface that you work on in case of ink spills.

Suitable for complete beginners — no experience is necessary.

System requirements. The workshop will be hosted via Zoom. To participate, all you need is a computer that has video and audio capabilities, or a smartphone - using the Zoom app. If you opt for using your phone, you will need a holder or somewhere to place it throughout the workshop, so that your hands are free to do calligraphy!!
