For those that know the basics of modern calligraphy and want to take their skills further.

Our 'Beyond Beginner' Course is for those of you that know the basics ( ie you've attended one workshop) and wish to develop your lettering to make stunning creative pieces of art.

You'll learn to fine-tune your compositions and balance your work and be guided through the design process. By the end of this course, you will be able to create a beautifully composed piece.

So if you're looking to elevate your calligraphy to the next level, this is definitely the course for you!

Once you've ordered, you'll receive a link to the Zoom meeting. On the day of the class, use that link to join the class. Class sizes are kept small, so you can easily ask questions and get lots of one on one time with your tutors. Zoom is free and easy to use, on any device. You're in control of your privacy - you can mute yourself and hide your webcam if and when you prefer.

Choosing the Ticket that includes our Beyond Beginner Nib Kit means you will have everything you need to complete all of the lessons and projects included in the course.

Week 1: Bounce and blending 

Week 2: Extending connectors 

Week 3: Scale and Mini Caps - Spacing, Balance, and Proportion

Week 4: Flourishes and filling spaces - Compositions

Week 5: Refining your design

Every session of this course will be recorded, so if you miss a week for any reason you will able to watch the recording to catch up!

Your Kit

Black, yellow, magenta & turquoise calligraphy ink, a universal pen holder, pen rest, 2 different nibs, a pipette, a selection of metallic Finetec, a pencil, a paintbrush, a Rhodia dot pad, a selection of templates and worksheets.

NO KIT OPTION

You will only receive the worksheets which will be emailed prior to the course starting.

If you have selected the no-kit option please feel free to use a selection of your own favourite nibs and Finetec colours.

You will need to provide the following

A4 Dot Rhodia pad

Pencil

Rubber

LightPad (optional)

Your chosen tool (nib or brush)

An online workshop is a wonderful way to learn calligraphy, as you are able to watch your tutor demonstrate up close on your screen so that every letter stroke and movement of the pen and hand is magnified.

Payment Option

There is now the option to split your payment into 3 monthly instalments by using Clearpay at the checkout.
