Join us on our special Christmas-themed live-streamed workshop from the comfort of your own home! The perfect introduction to calligraphy, taking you from the basics of how to use a pointed nib, to joining up words so that you can create phrases and greetings for cards and gifts. This is a festive workshop, so we will be using metallic paints to form lovely shimmering lettering, plus we will look at how to add simple illustrations like holly and stars to your calligraphy. You will finish by creating a stunning calligraphic Christmas Card with the help of our unique templates.

With demonstrations, warm-up exercises, alphabets and words to trace and copy, you will be guided step by step, through the principles of modern calligraphy, so that you are able to build up your skills quickly and easily.

An online workshop is a wonderful way to learn calligraphy, as you are able to watch your tutor demonstrate up close on your screen so that every letter stroke and movement of the pen and hand is magnified and easy to follow. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners — no experience is necessary. Your Zoom invite will come with your booking email confirmation, and we'll send it to you again 3 days before your workshop in your reminder email. After you've booked please check your Spam folder in case the email ends up in there!

Everything you need for the workshop will be posted out to you the week prior to the event. You only need to provide a jar of water, and please protect the surface that you work on in case of ink spills.

Kit

Pointed nib and penholder, two glittering Finetec pans, and a paintbrush to mix. Worksheets an array of gift tags and greeting cards, envelopes, and templates.
